Steven Herrick is the author of twenty-seven books for children and young adults.
Steven’s books have won the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards (twice) and been shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year Awards on ten occasions. He is widely regarded as the pioneer of the verse-novel genre in Australia.
Talks and Workshops
Steven talks about his life as a writer before offering a lively and entertaining performance of a selection of his poems. He introduces each poem with a brief story or workshop idea that teachers and students can follow up with after the event. After Steven’s visit, every student will believe poetry belongs on the stage as well as the page.
