Kathryn Apel has worked as a teacher and literacy coach, but now devotes her time to writing poetry, picture books and verse novels – and talking about writing!
Kathryn is best known for her verse novel, Bully on the Bus, and her shape poem, ‘Big Blue Whale’, which is loved by children across the globe. Her picture book, This is the Mud!, has been read on PlaySchool. She co-ordinates the worldwide January Month of Poetry for kids and adults.

Kathryn engages children and adults with her passion for story and wordplay. She offers assorted poetry workshops for rhymed/unrhymed poetry, using her stunning photographs as inspiration. Kat also employs props and pictures in an interactive session from plan to picture book.
Kathryn also presents writing workshops for adults, and professional development for educators and counsellors.
